The producers of TV's ad industry-on-steroids drama " Mad Men" turn repeatedly to music to help create its period credibility. From Coca-Cola to the iPod, advertisements have often brought wide exposure to songs ranging from the New Seekers' "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony)" to Feist's "1234." So it seems turnaround is fair play. These days it seems few understand the power of music - at least the financial power - better than Madison Avenue. McCartney will appear on a duet with Fallon for "Scrambled Eggs" (the original title for the Beatles' "Yesterday"), while Timberlake will offer a hip-hop retrospective on "History Of Rap." If Fallon takes this album on tour, which he hopes to do, he may want to consult Madge for dance lessons again. The list of artists he's culled to help blow the pants off comedy fans includes household names such as fellow comedian Stephen Colbert, Dave Matthews, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, and Eddie Vedder, among others. On June 12 Fallon is set to release a comedy album titled Blow Your Pants Off. But now, he's getting ready to make you sing. That's really all that matters to me."įor those who have spent any "Late Nights With Jimmy Fallon," he's likely made you laugh, made you think and maybe even made you cry. It is a film I loved making and I am proud of. Despite the less than robust box-office showing, Cyrus is beaming with pride, tweeting, "Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL. During its opening weekend, the film brought in $46,500 at the box office, which is just $437 more than what The Avengers averaged per theater in its opening week, though it should be noted the film did only play in a dozen states. The film is a "fresh coming-of-age" story focusing on Lola (played by Cyrus) as she navigates a world connected by YouTube, iTunes and Facebook, while facing the pressures of high school, romance, friendship, and a complicated relationship with her mother (played by Demi Moore). Miley Cyrus is also in on the summer movie action given her return to the silver screen in LOL. With The Avengers scoring a box-office shattering $200.5 million in its opening weekend and with Battleship (starring Rihanna) due May 18, the summer blockbuster season is getting off to a big start.
