![]() ![]() Apparently, in the past, valet parking was complimentary. Today I went to celebrate Valentine's Day with my family who gets together once a month to socialize. Moreįor years I had been invited to pharmaceutical dinners at the Old Warsaw but never had the time. Very sad as it had used to mean something. I’m not even sure this place is actually open anymore. I get up and walk around to scope things out and the kitchen was dark, the door to the mens room was wide open and there was no one working other than the two ladies who seemed like maybe water filler/table runner types. I asked if any cooks did and she laughs as she I’m not sure she fully understood what I was saying. She apologizes and said a lot of people including hosts, servers, bartenders, etc didn’t show up to work. There is quite literally no one other patron at any table at all. We walk and stand around for a minute before two ladies come and ask if we want a table for two. Walk inside and there’s a group of 10-12 businessmen probably staying at nearby hotel who seem perplexed as there is no host/hostess, no server, no manager and no bartender to be found. We got there and apparently the valet didn’t show that night so we parked underground garage that has no signage to get to restaurant other than that the elevator was only for residents. I was adamant that fight was going to happen because it was being spoken about so much and then he retired! “You don’t know how someone else’s career is going to go and you don’t know their decisions. It didn’t happen and that is why I don’t focus on anyone other than myself. “The Buglioni thing, when that was happening and people were talking about us fighting, I thought that fight was going to happen. A lot of people thought I was being silly or lying when I said I didn’t know who was on the same card as me or I didn’t know some of the guys who were in my weight class. “If I wasn’t focused on myself I don’t think I would have got here. I have surpassed some of those heights and I still have some to pass. ![]() I have always paid homage to the people who have made it to the heights I want to get to. “That shows you how focused I am on myself! Boxing is a long road and I have always been focused on myself. While his own fight might still be fresh in his mind, he was actually unaware that Saunders was not the bill-topper on his debut night. “I had my pro debut in that arena and now I am about to have my unification bout in that arena and leave as the unified champion of the world.” Those were the days of weighing in on the day and for me this is now destiny. “It does feel like it was a while ago, but that moment is very fresh in my mind. Bradley Skeete ultimately topped the bill that also included Frank Buglioni, a fighter who would later be heavily linked to fighting the explosive newcomer to the 175lbs scene. Thinking back to that May evening back in 2015 when Yarde was one of the early birds on a long card that was only depleted by the withdrawal of Billy Joe Saunders from headline action. “I like being in that position at this stage of my career and I just feel like January 28 is going to be a very special night for me.” My best performances have always been when I have been the underdog. “You know what, I watched boxing even before I started and I like to watch the big moments and how they all come around. “I am definitely happy that I have finally got to this stage and, in my mind, I have got to bring to reality where I am going afterwards as well. “I’m relaxed, I’m good and it is the biggest fight of my career,” said the 31-year-old, who happily acknowledges the odds will not fall in his favour going into battle against an 18-0 champion with 18 KOs. Sure of himself, knowing what he is coming up against and utterly convinced he will be going home with the bounty. Getting ready for his triple assault on world light heavyweight honours within the confines of the Box Up Crime gym in the heart of Ilford, Yarde cuts a contented figure. On January 28, live on BT Sport, at the newly titled OVO Arena, Wembley, Yarde goes up against the formidable unified world light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev for three belts. He lasted 15 seconds into the second round. On the 9th of May in 2015, Mitch Mitchell was in the opposite corner at what was formerly known as Wembley Arena. Anthony Yarde is approaching what he calls ‘the biggest fight of his career’ on January 28 at the venue where it all began for him as a professional back in 2015. The objective of the current study was to provide a systematic overview and synthesis of the evidence on the effectiveness of digital interventions to improve antimicrobial prescribing and monitoring in hospitals. We set out to perform a review of reviews. It would therefore be challenging for those selecting or purchasing AMS digital interventions, or those embarking on an evaluation of digital interventions, to synthesize this available information and evidence. These reviews have focused on specific types of interventions, like CDS, or specific outcome measures. Hospital-based AMS interventions 1–3, 16, 17 and digital interventions supporting AMS 18–20 have been the focus of previous reviews. 15 These issues can hamper uptake of systems and so reduce effectiveness of digital interventions in practice. For example, implementing too many CDS alerts can lead to alert fatigue, 14 many stand-alone systems do not interface with existing clinical information systems, and digital interventions are not always user-friendly. 13 Despite these benefits, research has also identified a range of challenges and risks associated with the use of AMS digital interventions. For example, an alert signalling de-escalation to narrower-spectrum agents can assist prescribers in making appropriate antimicrobial choices at the point of prescribing. ![]() Integrating restriction policies and implementing guidelines can also be done more efficiently with the use of CPOE 10–12 and clinical decision support (CDS). ![]() ![]() 10 These can be overcome with computerized provider order entry (CPOE) systems or electronic medical records (eMRs), which allow an AMS team to easily identify patients on an antimicrobial and enter notes into the system to document and communicate recommendations to prescribers. For example, difficulty identifying patients receiving suboptimal therapy and difficulty communicating recommendations to prescribers were barriers to undertaking audit and feedback. Many AMS programme barriers previously cited in the literature can potentially be addressed with the use of digital interventions. 7–9 AMS processes that were traditionally paper-based are gradually becoming computerized with the increasing implementation of information technology in hospitals. The use of digital interventions within AMS programmes is recommended by international guidelines. 4 AMS programmes have been shown to reduce inappropriate antimicrobial use, hospital length of stay, costs, rates of resistance and hospital-acquired infections. mortality and length of stay) and readmission rates have been used by studies to assess the impact of AMS in hospitals. 2, 3 A range of outcome measures including antimicrobial use, cost, resistance patterns, secondary infections, patient outcomes (e.g. ![]() 1 A plethora of studies have been published evaluating the impact of different AMS programmes and interventions on antimicrobial prescribing and patient outcomes. 1 AMS programmes are typically hospital-wide and multifaceted, including strategies such as prescribing guidelines, formularies and approval systems, post-prescription audit and feedback, and point-of-care interventions. Antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) is a term used to describe programmes aimed at optimizing antimicrobial use, ultimately improving patient outcomes, and reducing adverse consequences including antimicrobial resistance, in a cost-effective way. Here is an example of a multitrack recording: You are using Skype to interview someone for a podcast. If there is a train going by in the background as you speak into the microphone, there is no way to get rid of that train when you go back and edit the final product because there is only one audio recording and it includes both your voice and the train sound. Every sound that gets captured is recorded on one track. Here is an example of a single-track recording: Hook up a microphone, hit the record button, and start talking. While Amadeus Pro works great in a single-track environment, it is also a very powerful multitrack recording and editing program. Whether it is editing a previously recorded Skype conversation, mixing spoken audio and music together, or getting rid of the hiss from an old cassette tape, each task is demonstrated in a way that should give the listener a good idea of how to proceed with his or her own project. When following the tutorial, it is not necessary or even practical to copy Mosen's examples in exact detail, and sample files are not provided. It is quite possible that the listener will pick up some valuable tips for working with the Mac as a side benefit of working through this tutorial. Having said that, Mosen sprinkles many examples of how he personally works with the Mac in general and VoiceOver in particular throughout each chapter. ![]() It is also important to note that anyone working through the tutorial should have prior knowledge of how to use the VoiceOver screen reader. For this reason, it is probably a good idea for the new student to work through the tutorial from start to finish the first time through, and then revisit sections of particular interest later. While new concepts are introduced and thoroughly explained, Mosen is careful not to break the flow of the tutorial by constantly rehashing old explanations. He defines terms such as sampling rate, bit depth, and file encoding in a way that will provide the knowledge to create and save good audio without bogging the listener down in potentially overwhelming details. In a friendly, simple style, Mosen begins by giving the student a basic overview of some audio fundamentals. The developers of the product are aware of the needs of the blind community, and work to keep the program accessible with the Apple VoiceOver screen reader. Although there are several audio editors available for OS X including the free Audacity program, and the $299 SoundForge suite of programs, HairerSoft's Amadeus Pro is the option many blind Mac users prefer. Coming in at just less than four hours in length, the audiobook, Become an Amadeus Pro Maestro, clearly lays out the steps for performing many essential audio editing tasks on the Mac. Almost exactly one year later, we return to review another product from Mosen Consulting, this time an audio tutorial. A bill to replenish the fund has attracted bipartisan support in both chambers, including 40 Senate co-sponsors, but Congress is prioritizing other issues, including averting a government shutdown, raising the debt ceiling, and passing the multitrillion-dollar infrastructure and social spending bills.Įven though they sat on opposite sides of the aisle, Coons called Isakson “a great mentor and ultimately a great friend.” Conversations with Republicans over heaps of meat tenderized by gently rendered fat, Coons said, helped grease the wheels for cross-party collaboration. Congress created a Restaurant Revitalization Fund in March as part of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package that not a single Republican supported, but its $28.6 billion allocation practically ran dry overnight after 278,000 eateries asked for more than $72 billion in relief. If sharing some sweet tea can sweeten bipartisan deal-making, restaurateurs like Thornton and Latimer may benefit. “At a time where they’re extremely busy with three restaurants, and all the challenges that are going on today in the market - sourcing a product and labor - they still dropped everything that they were doing to come and be a part of this.” The pandemic has hurt the food service industry harder than some other sectors, as Thornton noted while lauding Latimer for making the trip. Asking pulled pork to pull the Senate together to deal with all that seems like a tall order. On top of that, Congress is facing yet another potential government shutdown, negotiations on police reform collapsed Wednesday, a sizable chunk of the GOP still refuses to acknowledge the validity of last year’s election and the coronavirus continues to ravage unvaccinated Americans. If anything, Coons was downplaying the grim state of affairs, as Democrats and Republicans continue to play chicken on raising the debt limit, risking a catastrophic default of the nation’s credit if neither side blinks - all for the possibility of a small partisan boost in the next election. “And I’d say we’re back into a place where we’re pretty divided.” “Johnny started doing this a little over a decade ago, when the Senate was getting kind of hinky - people were getting mad at each other, there was not a lot of understanding,” said Coons.
